The 2023 Domaine Chermette Brouilly Pierreux is a beautifully vibrant and mineral-driven Gamay from one of Beaujolais’ benchmark family estates. Produced from old vines planted on the blue volcanic and granite soils of the Pierreux vineyard in Brouilly, the wine reflects the Chermette family’s traditional and terroir-focused philosophy, balancing ripe fruit with freshness, structure and regional character. The nose reveals blackberry, wild strawberry and red cherry layered alongside violet, crushed herbs and subtle spice, giving the wine impressive depth and aromatic lift.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with silky tannins, bright natural acidity and a finely detailed mineral core. Layers of juicy dark berry fruit, gentle savoury complexity and delicate earthy spice are balanced by freshness and supple texture, finishing long, energetic and beautifully persistent with excellent balance and drinkability. Traditional semi-carbonic vinification preserves the wine’s purity and perfume while allowing the volcanic terroir to contribute depth and mineral tension.
