CLARE VALLEY
Clare Valley is one of Australia’s most renowned wine regions, located in South Australia, approximately 120 kilometres north of Adelaide. Known for its elevated vineyards and cool-climate influence, Clare Valley has built an international reputation for producing some of the world’s finest Riesling, alongside high-quality Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The region features rolling hills and varying altitudes (300–600 metres), creating a mix of microclimates that allow grapes to ripen slowly while retaining natural acidity. Warm days combined with cool nights help develop wines with intense aromatics, freshness and structure.
Clare Valley Riesling is particularly famous, offering lime, citrus blossom and mineral notes, with vibrant acidity and exceptional ageing potential. Over time, these wines can develop complex flavours of toast and honey. The region’s Shiraz is typically medium-bodied and elegant, showing red and dark fruit with spice, while Cabernet Sauvignon delivers structure and depth.
