ORANGE
Orange is a premium cool-climate wine region located in New South Wales, Australia, known for producing elegant and high-altitude wines with freshness and structure. Situated around an extinct volcano, the region is distinguished by its elevated vineyards, many planted above 600 metres.
The high altitude of Orange creates cooler growing conditions compared to many other Australian wine regions, allowing grapes to ripen slowly while retaining natural acidity and aromatic complexity. The volcanic soils further contribute to wines with minerality, balance, and depth.
Orange is particularly known for Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. Chardonnay from the region is often refined and mineral-driven, while Pinot Noir offers bright red fruit and spice. The cooler conditions also support aromatic whites and more elegant styles of red wine.
As one of Australia’s leading cool-climate regions, Orange offers modern, terroir-driven wines that combine freshness, elegance, and regional character.
