Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Wine More Cellars ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information when you visit winemore.com.au (the "Site"), shop with us online or in store at Chadstone Shopping Centre, or otherwise deal with us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, join our mailing list, enter a tasting or event, or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, date of birth or age confirmation, order history and the content of your messages. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site we collect device and usage information such as IP address, browser type, time zone, pages viewed, products viewed or searched for, referring pages and how you interact with the Site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
Information from in-store purchases. If you buy in store and provide your details for a receipt, Click & Collect, Shipping Hold or our mailing list, we record those details against your purchase.
Age restriction
It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to a person under 18. The Site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. We may ask for proof of age at delivery or collection. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Why we collect it
- To process and deliver your orders, take payment, arrange shipping or collection, and send order and delivery notifications.
- To provide customer service, handle returns, refunds and faulty-wine claims, and respond to your enquiries.
- To send marketing emails about new arrivals, tastings, events and offers where you have subscribed or purchased from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To screen orders for fraud and comply with liquor licensing and other legal obligations.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve our range, content and service.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to perform services for us, and only to the extent needed:
- Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders. Shopify's privacy policy: shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Payment providers (including Shopify Payments, PayPal and other gateways offered at checkout) to process your payment.
- Delivery carriers, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
- Klaviyo, our email marketing platform, which stores subscriber details and sends our emails.
- Google (Analytics, Search Console and Merchant Center), which provide anonymised site statistics and product listings.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Canada. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information in line with Australian privacy law.
We may also disclose personal information where required by law, in response to a lawful request from a regulator or law enforcement, or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use cookies that are necessary for the Site to work (cart, checkout, login), cookies that help us understand how the Site is used (Shopify analytics, Google Analytics), and cookies that allow us to recognise returning subscribers (Klaviyo). You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may stop checkout working. The Site does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access or disclosure, including using providers with industry-standard security. We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and keep marketing details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, by emailing info@winemore.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
