The 2025 Chatto Killara Farm Pinot Noir is a powerful and site-driven Tasmanian Pinot Noir sourced from the Brinktop Road vineyard in Penna, within the Coal River Valley. Grown by Gill Christian and Todd Goebel and crafted by renowned winemaker Jim Chatto, this vineyard consistently produces a darker, more structured expression of Pinot Noir. The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, blackberry and dark plum, layered with dried herbs, spice, forest floor and subtle floral notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with impressive concentration, fine tannins and vibrant natural acidity. A blend of MV6, D2V4 (Pommard) and D5 clones brings together dark fruit depth, savoury spice and bright berry lift, creating a wine with both power and complexity. Layers of black cherry, raspberry and plum are supported by earthy undertones and a finely structured finish that is long, persistent and distinctly Coal River Valley in character.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding Pinot Noir for those who enjoy a more structured and muscular Tasmanian style without sacrificing finesse. While approachable with decanting, the wine will reward patience and is expected to develop beautifully over the next 8–12 years.
