The 2024 Delas Frères Côtes-du-Rhône “Saint-Esprit” Rouge is a generous Southern Rhône blend of 54% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 9% Marselan, 5% Mourvèdre and 4% Carignan. It opens with aromas of ripe raspberry, cherry and dark berries, accompanied by violet, liquorice, sweet spice and subtle notes of chocolate and hazelnut.
On the palate, it is rounded, juicy and approachable, with the ripe Grenache providing warmth and generosity while Syrah contributes freshness and structure. Fine tannins support the fruit, and maturation for at least 12 months—principally in stainless steel with selected parcels aged in oak—preserves brightness while adding gentle complexity. The finish is savoury, spicy and persistent.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent-value Rhône red offering generous fruit, supple tannins and everyday versatility. Serve at 16–18°C and allow around 30 minutes of air before drinking. Enjoy now or cellar through 2031. Ideal with grilled steak, roast lamb, sausages, beef stew, potato rösti, sautéed mushrooms, ratatouille or firm cheeses.
