The 2024 Bachelet-Monnot Maranges Vieilles Vignes Rouge is an old-vine 100% Pinot Noir from Maranges at the southern end of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Sourced from mature mass-selection vines planted in red clay and rocky chalk soils, it offers blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry alongside briary herbs, bay leaf and subtle peppery spice.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and energetic, with concentrated red fruit, crunchy tannins and bright acidity leading to a controlled, peppery finish. The old vines provide noticeably greater depth than the domaine’s Bourgogne Rouge while retaining the fresh, vibrant character of the 2024 vintage. Neal Martin awarded it 90–92 points.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Pinot Noir lovers seeking old-vine Burgundy with freshness, savoury complexity and fine structure. Best enjoyed from around 2028–2032. Ideal with roast duck, pork tenderloin, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes or aged Comté.
