The 2024 Bachelet-Monnot Bourgogne Rouge is a vibrant 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy, blending fruit from Puligny-Montrachet, Maranges and the Hautes-Côtes. Remarkably old vines—around 60 to 80 years in the contributing parcels—bring extra character, while the cool 2024 vintage delivers lifted aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, raspberry and cherry, accented by floral and peppery notes.
The palate is bright and energetic, with juicy red fruit, lively acidity and fine tannins giving a fresh, elegant profile. The wine underwent spontaneous fermentation in concrete with 20% whole bunches, followed by 12 months in barrel and six months in tank, preserving perfume and freshness while adding subtle depth.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a terrific introduction to Bachelet-Monnot’s red Burgundy style—fragrant, fresh and beautifully approachable. Best enjoyed from 2027–2031, though its bright fruit makes it appealing young. Ideal with roast duck, grilled chicken, pork tenderloin, mushroom dishes or charcuterie.
