2024 Aphelion Rapture Old Vine Grenache Noir is a flagship McLaren Vale Grenache crafted by winemaker Rob Mack from carefully selected old-vine vineyards. Produced in very small quantities, this wine represents the most powerful and structured Grenache in the Aphelion range, highlighting the depth and complexity that mature McLaren Vale vines can deliver.
The wine opens with fragrant aromatics of rose petals, raspberry and rhubarb layered with subtle spice, graphite and savoury herbal notes. On the palate it shows impressive intensity and texture, with flavours of sour cherry, blood orange and red berries supported by finely structured tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, savoury and persistent, promising further development with bottle age.
