2023 Aphelion Hickinbotham Grenache Noir is a refined single-vineyard Grenache from the historic Hickinbotham Vineyard in Clarendon, one of the highest and coolest sites in McLaren Vale. Known for its altitude and ancient soils, the vineyard produces Grenache with exceptional perfume, freshness and structure.
The 2023 vintage opens with lifted aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry, layered with notes of rose petal, dried herbs and subtle spice. On the palate, vibrant red berry fruit is supported by fine tannins and bright natural acidity, with hints of cranberry, savoury herbs and gentle earthy complexity adding depth. The finish is long, elegant and mineral-driven.
