The 2022 Maison Piron Morgon Grand Cras is a beautifully structured Gamay from one of Morgon’s most respected terroirs. Sourced from the Grand Cras climat, known for its clay and granite-rich soils, this wine combines the depth and concentration of Morgon with Maison Piron’s signature elegance. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of black cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, alongside subtle floral notes, spice and hints of graphite and crushed stone.
On the palate, it is vibrant and refined, with layers of red and dark berry fruit supported by fine tannins and fresh acidity. The texture is silky yet structured, while savoury mineral notes add complexity through to a long, poised finish. Approachable now, it also has the balance and structure to reward medium-term cellaring.

Richer and more structured than many Gamay wines, it drinks beautifully now with decanting and will continue to develop over the next 5–8 years.
