The 2022 Clos Saouma Côtes du Rhône Villages Rouge INOPIA is a beautifully crafted Southern Rhône blend from Rotem and Mounir Saouma, the visionary team behind Burgundy's renowned Lucien Le Moine. Produced predominantly from Grenache, with Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault and Counoise, the fruit comes mainly from the estate's organically farmed vineyards around Orange. Whole-cluster fermentation, natural winemaking and 16 months' ageing on full lees in cement eggs, foudres and large oak barrels create a wine of remarkable perfume and finesse. The nose reveals ripe black cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry layered with liquorice, garrigue herbs, pepper and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and impressive depth. Juicy red and black fruits are complemented by savoury herbs, gentle spice and a fine mineral edge, leading to a long, elegant finish that balances Rhône generosity with Burgundian precision.
