The 2021 Senses Bodega Thieriot Vineyard Pinot Noir is an exceptional single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the West Sonoma Coast, planted just five miles from the Pacific Ocean. Crafted from the Calera clone and matured for 12 months in French oak, it captures the purity, freshness and mineral character of this cool coastal site. The nose is beautifully perfumed with aromas of pomegranate, kirsch and mulberry, complemented by lilac, bergamot, jasmine tea and subtle iron-like minerality.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with silky, fine-grained tannins and vibrant natural acidity. Layers of red berry fruit, black raspberry and delicate floral notes are framed by earthy spice and mineral complexity, leading to a long, elegant finish with remarkable precision. While already impressive with decanting, this Pinot Noir has the balance and structure to evolve beautifully over the next 15–20 years.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding choice for collectors and lovers of refined Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Pair it with roast duck, herb-crusted lamb, wild mushroom risotto, grilled salmon or aged Gruyère. Decant for around 30 minutes before serving to reveal its layered aromatics, or cellar confidently for years to enjoy its full potential.
