Founded in 2011 by childhood friends Christopher Strieter, Max Thieriot, and Myles Lawrence-Briggs, the winery was built on a shared vision of showcasing world-class Sonoma terroir through meticulous vineyard management and minimal-intervention winemaking. The winery farms and sources fruit from several outstanding vineyard sites, including the family's historic Hillcrest Vineyard near Occidental, as well as celebrated vineyards such as Bodega Thieriot, Cuvée Anna, and other distinguished Sonoma Coast locations. Influenced by the cool Pacific Ocean, coastal fog, and ancient marine soils, these vineyards experience long growing seasons that allow grapes to ripen slowly while preserving vibrant acidity, aromatic purity, and exceptional balance.

Senses Wines is best known for its single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, each crafted to express the individuality of its vineyard origin. The Pinot Noirs display layers of wild cherry, raspberry, rose petals, forest floor, black tea, and baking spice with silky tannins and remarkable finesse. The Chardonnays offer citrus, white peach, lemon curd, crushed stone, hazelnut, and refined French oak, combining richness with precision and mineral freshness. Small production and meticulous vineyard selection ensure every bottling reflects both vintage and terroir.

Winemaking is led by acclaimed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, one of California's most celebrated talents. Fruit is harvested by hand, fermented with indigenous yeasts where appropriate, and handled with minimal intervention throughout the cellar. Gentle extraction, restrained oak usage, and extended lees ageing for Chardonnay allow each wine to maintain transparency, elegance, and a true sense of place while offering excellent ageing potential.
