The 2021 Senses Kanzler Pinot Noir is a beautifully refined single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the renowned Kanzler Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Planted just eight miles from the Pacific Ocean, this cool-climate site produces wines of remarkable elegance and depth. Matured for 10 months in French oak, it opens with expressive aromas of black raspberry, ripe cherry and rose petals, complemented by hints of crushed rock, black truffle and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with plush, fine-grained tannins and vibrant natural acidity. Layers of dark berry fruit, floral notes and earthy minerality lead to a long, polished finish with impressive balance and freshness. Drinking beautifully with decanting, it also has the structure to cellar gracefully for the next 10–15 years.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding choice for lovers of premium Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with elegance, complexity and excellent ageing potential. Pair it with roast duck, grilled lamb, wild mushroom risotto, roast chicken or aged Gruyère. Decant for around 30 minutes before serving, or cellar for added complexity over the coming decade.
