The 2021 Kientzler Riesling Grand Cru “Kirchberg” is a highly refined Alsace Riesling from one of Ribeauvillé’s most respected family estates. Kirchberg is the highest and coolest Grand Cru vineyard in Ribeauvillé, located close to the forest with cooling afternoon breezes that contribute to the wine’s freshness, precision and mineral tension. The nose is intensely mineral and finely detailed, showing lime zest, white peach and citrus blossom layered with wet stone, smoky flint and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with crystalline acidity and a beautifully focused structure. At Wine More Cellars, this is one of the finest dry Alsace Rieslings we recommend for serious white wine collectors. Compared to German Riesling, it’s drier, broader and more mineral-driven; compared to white Burgundy, it offers similar terroir complexity but with much higher acidity and precision. Kirchberg is especially exciting because it delivers tension and elegance rather than overt richness, making it a fantastic option for customers who enjoy structured, cellar-worthy whites. The 2021 vintage is beautifully classical and all about finesse, freshness and longevity. Drink from 2025 onwards or cellar comfortably for 15–25+ years.
