The 2020 Les Pèlerins de Lafon-Rochet is the second wine of Château Lafon-Rochet from Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, made from 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 13% Petit Verdot. The nose shows blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry with red cherry, herbs, liquorice, pepper and subtle cocoa notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, structured tannins and a savoury character. Dark berries and redcurrant are complemented by pepper, herbs and a subtle saline note, while 12 months in barrel adds depth and texture through a fresh, persistent finish.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Bordeaux drinkers who enjoy Cabernet-driven Saint-Estèphe with dark fruit, savoury complexity and an approachable style compared with the estate’s Grand Vin. Drinking well now, it can continue developing through around 2032. Ideal with roast lamb, grilled steak, duck, slow-braised beef or mushroom dishes.
