2022 Lark Hill Hudson Vineyard GSM from Hilltops is a vibrant and lifted blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre, showing a more elegant, cool-climate interpretation of the classic Rhône style. Aromatically, it is highly perfumed and expressive, with notes of red cherry, raspberry and plum, layered with violet, dried herbs and subtle spice. There is also a distinctive savoury edge, with hints of leather, fennel and earthy complexity adding depth.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and finely structured, with bright red fruit, peppery spice from Shiraz and savoury depth from Mourvèdre. The texture is more linear and fresh rather than heavy, supported by lively acidity and sinewy, fine tannins. The finish is long, slightly savoury and mineral-driven, giving the wine both drinkability and structure.
