GIANT STEPS
Giant Steps is a renowned winery located in the heart of Victoria’s Yarra Valley, celebrated for its exceptional cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Founded in 1997 by wine industry pioneer Phil Sexton, the winery is named after John Coltrane’s iconic jazz album, reflecting Sexton’s passion for jazz music.
Giant Steps focuses on single-vineyard expressions, sourcing fruit from several premium sites across the Yarra Valley, including Applejack, Sexton, Tarraford, Wombat Creek, and Primavera vineyards. Each vineyard contributes unique characteristics, resulting in wines that showcase the diversity of the region.
Under the guidance of Head of Winemaking and Viticulture, Melanie Chester, who joined in 2021, Giant Steps continues to produce wines that reflect purity and finesse, maintaining its reputation as a benchmark for cool-climate varietals.
