The Jacquesson Cuvée No. 748 NV is a highly regarded Extra Brut Champagne from one of the region's most respected grower-producers. Based on the 2020 harvest and complemented by reserve wines from previous editions, this release highlights Jacquesson's signature focus on precision, terroir and minimal dosage. Aromas of dried pear, citrus, white flowers and brioche are complemented by notes of chamomile, spice and crushed stone.
On the palate, it is beautifully structured and energetic, with fine bubbles and bright acidity supporting flavours of lemon, orchard fruit and subtle pastry notes. Chardonnay plays a leading role in the blend, bringing freshness and mineral definition, while extended lees ageing adds texture and complexity. The finish is long, dry and remarkably precise, with a distinctive saline and mineral edge.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding Champagne for those who appreciate purity, finesse and a more terroir-driven style. While already showing impressive balance and complexity, it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 8–10 years. Pairs wonderfully with oysters, sashimi, lobster, roast poultry and aged hard cheeses.
