The 2024 Bindi Darshan Pinot Noir reflects another tiny-yielding vintage from this close-planted vineyard, but unlike the cooler 2023 season, 2024 enjoyed warmer growing conditions that have produced a wine with greater fruit richness while retaining Bindi’s hallmark precision and finesse. With yields again exceptionally low, the wine combines concentration with remarkable balance, showcasing the distinctive personality of the Darshan site.
The nose is expressive and layered, opening with sweet red cherry, wild strawberry and red currant, complemented by hints of darker berry fruits, forest undergrowth and subtle earthy complexity. As the wine unfolds in the glass, delicate floral notes, gentle spice and mineral nuances emerge, giving the bouquet both lift and depth. The warmer season lends slightly riper fruit expression, yet the aromas remain refined and beautifully delineated.
On the palate, the wine is fresh, creamy and energetic, with impressive drive and seamless integration. The supple red and dark fruits are supported by fine, chewy tannins that provide structure without heaviness, while vibrant acidity maintains focus and tension throughout. The texture is flowing and harmonious, carrying savoury earth, subtle spice and mineral notes into a long, persistent finish. Despite its youthful accessibility, the wine possesses the concentration and structural integrity to reward extended cellaring.
The 2024 Darshan is expected to gain complexity and greater suppleness over six years or more, with the balance to continue evolving well beyond that. Compared with the elegant, perfumed 2023, the 2024 offers a fuller, more concentrated interpretation of the vineyard while remaining unmistakably Bindi - combining purity of fruit, refined tannin structure and Burgundian-inspired finesse.
