The 2023 Domaine Tempier Bandol Lulu & Lucien is the estate’s flagship Bandol Rouge, named in honour of Lucien Peyraud and Lulu Tempier, whose vision helped establish Domaine Tempier as one of Provence’s most iconic producers. Predominantly Mourvèdre with Grenache and Cinsault, the wine is sourced from organically farmed vineyards on limestone-rich soils overlooking the Mediterranean. It is a classic expression of Bandol, combining power, savoury complexity and remarkable elegance with outstanding ageing potential.
The nose reveals aromas of blackberry, black cherry and wild plum layered with thyme, lavender, olive tapenade and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully structured, with concentrated dark fruit supported by firm yet polished tannins and vibrant natural acidity. Notes of liquorice, graphite and earthy minerality unfold through a long, savoury finish that is both powerful and refined.

A benchmark Bandol that beautifully captures the depth and character of Mourvèdre. Its richness and savoury complexity make it a superb match for slow-roasted lamb, duck, venison, beef daube and Provençal cuisine. Enjoy from 2027 onwards with decanting, or cellar confidently through 2045+ as it develops extraordinary complexity, spice and tertiary character.
