The 2023 Domaines Schlumberger Riesling Grand Cru Saering is a dry Alsace Riesling from the historic Saering vineyard north of Guebwiller. Grown at 260–300 metres on marl, limestone and sandstone soils, it shows yuzu, lemon and star fruit with white flowers, ginger and subtle saline notes, giving the wine a distinctive mineral character.
On the palate, it is dry and finely structured with vibrant acidity, concentrated citrus and a subtle chalky texture. Lime, exotic fruit and floral notes are complemented by mineral bitterness and a saline edge, leading to a long, fresh finish. Hand-picked fruit is whole-bunch pressed, fermented in temperature-controlled tuns and matured on lees for eight months.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Riesling drinkers who enjoy dry, mineral-driven Alsace whites with bright acidity and savoury complexity. Enjoy now or cellar for further development. Pair with oysters, grilled fish, crab linguine, scallops, seafood dishes or fresh goat’s cheese.
