The 2022 Château Léoville Barton is a distinguished Second Growth (2ème Grand Cru Classé) from Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, made from 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.5% Merlot and 5.5% Cabernet Franc. The nose is concentrated with cassis, blackberry and black cherry, layered with violet, graphite, tobacco, spice and subtle mineral notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with impressive depth, vibrant freshness and refined, fine-grained tannins. The wine was matured in French oak, including 60% new barrels, with deep black fruit and savoury complexity leading to a long, precise and mineral-driven finish. The 2022 was also the first vintage produced in the estate’s new winery.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Bordeaux drinkers who enjoy concentrated Cabernet fruit, refined tannins and classic Saint-Julien structure with excellent ageing potential. Best enjoyed from around 2030 or cellared well into the 2040s and beyond as further complexity develops. Ideal with roast lamb, grilled steak, slow-braised beef, venison or mature hard cheeses.
