The 2019 Tellurian Estate Tranter Shiraz Half Bottle (375ml) is a 100% Shiraz from Block 3 of Tellurian Vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria, grown on the region’s ancient Cambrian soils. The nose is concentrated with dark plum, blackberry and cassis, layered with black pepper, dried herbs, mocha and subtle earthy notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and richly textured, with dark plum, liquorice and blueberry supported by fresh acidity and polished tannins. The wine incorporates 15% whole bunches and is matured in French oak, giving additional spice and structure while maintaining balance and fruit definition. The 375ml half-bottle is an ideal format for one or two glasses.
Ben’s Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for those who enjoy structured Heathcote Shiraz with concentrated dark fruit, peppery spice and savoury complexity. Drinking beautifully now, with the producer suggesting cellaring through 2035. Ideal with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef short ribs, charred eggplant or aged cheddar.
