Fallen Giants Shiraz comes from the cool-climate vineyards of the Grampians in Victoria, sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1969 on the eastern slopes. This elevated, east-facing site produces a more elegant, pepper-driven style of Shiraz compared to warmer regions like Barossa.
The wine was fermented in traditional open fermenters with hand plunging, then matured for around 16 months in French oak (20% new), giving it structure while preserving purity of fruit.
On the nose, it shows dark cherry, blackberry and plum, layered with black pepper, clove and spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, offering concentrated dark fruit, fine tannins and balanced acidity. It’s powerful yet controlled, with a long, spice-laden finish and excellent ageing potential.
