The 2024 Le Battistelle 'Montesei' Soave DOC Classico is a beautifully expressive 100% Garganega from the historic hills of Soave Classico in Veneto. Sourced from a collection of steep, south-facing vineyards with 70 to 90-year-old vines rooted in volcanic soils rich in clay and silt, the grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel and aged on fine lees for four months. The nose is fresh and inviting, revealing white peach, ripe citrus and pear layered with white blossom, subtle almond and delicate mineral notes.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a gentle textural richness and classic volcanic minerality. Flavours of citrus, stone fruit and white flowers are balanced by a savoury saline edge and the hallmark bitter almond note on the finish, giving the wine impressive freshness and elegance.
