SOAVE CLASSICO

Soave Classico is the historic heart of the Soave wine region in Veneto, northern Italy, located east of Verona. The “Classico” designation refers to the original hillside vineyards surrounding the medieval town of Soave, where the region’s finest wines have traditionally been produced.

The vineyards of Soave Classico are planted on ancient volcanic soils, which give the wines their distinctive mineral character and freshness. The region benefits from a mild continental climate with cooling breezes from the nearby Alps, allowing grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining vibrant natural acidity.

The main grape variety is Garganega, often blended with small amounts of Trebbiano di Soave. Wines from Soave Classico typically show aromas of citrus, white peach, almond and floral notes, with crisp acidity and subtle mineral complexity. Compared to broader Soave DOC wines, Soave Classico wines are generally more structured, complex and age-worthy.

Today Soave Classico is widely recognised as one of Italy’s classic white wine regions, producing elegant wines that combine freshness, minerality and Mediterranean charm.
