The 2021 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is a beautifully balanced 100% Chardonnay from one of Chablis’ seven Grand Cru vineyards, combining generous texture with the freshness of a cooler growing season. William Fèvre is one of the region’s benchmark domaines, recognised for wines that express the character of their individual vineyards. Its Bougros comes from five southwest-facing parcels, where gentler slopes and deeper soils contribute breadth and roundness. With vines averaging approximately 60–65 years of age, this cuvée brings together substantial fruit, fine structure and the distinctive saline character that makes Grand Cru Chablis so compelling.
Expect peach, pear, apple and orange citrus, complemented by white flowers, freshly baked bread and subtle smoky mineral notes. The palate is ample and fleshy, with bright acidity providing definition and a precise, saline finish. William Kelley awarded the wine 94 Points for The Wine Advocate in September 2023, praising its richness, freshness and particularly successful expression of Bougros. John Gilman awarded 95 Points in January 2023, highlighting its depth, energy and balance, with notes of orange blossom, lime zest and beeswax. The result is a generous Grand Cru whose lively structure gives its fruit both clarity and persistence.
