The Valentin Leflaive MA | 19 | 6.0 Grand Cru Rosé Brut NV is a refined Grand Cru Champagne that brings together two prestigious terroirs: Ambonnay Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru in the Côte des Blancs. The blend comprises 51% Pinot Noir from Ambonnay and 49% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, including 13% red wine from Ambonnay. The distinctive code reflects the wine’s identity: "MA" represents the two Grand Cru origins, "19" refers to the 2019 base vintage, and "6.0" indicates a dosage of 6g/L.
On the palate, it is elegant, fresh and beautifully textured, with raspberry and redcurrant complemented by grapefruit and fresh citrus notes. Fine, abundant bubbles give the wine a delicate, almost silky texture, while the combination of chalk-rich Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Chardonnay and Ambonnay Pinot Noir provides both mineral tension and red-fruited depth. With 18% reserve wines and around 40 months of ageing on lees, the finish is long, refreshing and subtly saline.
