KIR-YIANNI
Kir-Yianni is one of Greece’s most respected wine producers, based in Naoussa and Amyndeon in northern Greece. Founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris, a key figure in modern Greek winemaking, the estate has played a major role in elevating the reputation of Greek wines on the international stage.
The winery focuses on indigenous Greek grape varieties, particularly Xinomavro, which is considered one of Greece’s finest red grapes. Grown in the cool-climate regions of Naoussa and Amyndeon, Xinomavro produces wines with bright acidity, firm tannins and complex aromas of red fruit, tomato leaf, olive and spice, often compared to Nebbiolo in structure and ageing potential.
Kir-Yianni also produces a range of white and rosé wines from varieties such as Assyrtiko, Malagousia and international grapes, showcasing the diversity of northern Greek terroirs.
With a philosophy centred on innovation, sustainability and terroir expression, Kir-Yianni combines tradition with modern winemaking techniques to craft wines that are both authentic and globally appealing.
