2022 Kir-Yianni Kali Riza Amyndeon PDO is a beautifully expressive Xinomavro from the high-altitude vineyards of Amyndeon in northern Greece. The wine opens with a complex aromatic profile of wild strawberry, cherry and raspberry, layered with violet, tomato leaf and subtle herbal notes, alongside gentle spice and oak influence. It has a lifted, slightly savoury nose that is very characteristic of high-quality Xinomavro.
On the palate, it is fresh, structured and elegant, showing bright red fruit, vibrant acidity and fine, velvety tannins. There is a distinctive balance between fruit and savoury elements, with hints of olive, dried herbs and spice, leading to a long, mineral and persistent finish. The high acidity and structure give the wine both immediate drinkability and strong ageing potential.
