TAITTINGER
Taittinger is one of Champagne’s most respected family-owned houses, renowned for its elegant, Chardonnay-driven style and long-standing heritage in the historic city of Reims. Founded in 1734 and later led by the Taittinger family from 1932, the house remains one of the few major Champagne producers still independently owned, helping preserve its distinctive identity and commitment to quality.
Unlike many Champagne houses that emphasize Pinot Noir, Taittinger is celebrated for its high proportion of Chardonnay in many of its cuvées. This focus gives the wines a signature profile of freshness, finesse, and refined citrus and floral aromatics, balanced by delicate brioche and mineral complexity developed through extended aging in the house’s historic chalk cellars.
The estate owns significant vineyard holdings across Champagne, particularly in the Côte des Blancs, where some of the region’s finest Chardonnay is grown. These grapes play a key role in Taittinger’s flagship wines, including the iconic Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, widely regarded as one of the greatest prestige cuvées made entirely from Chardonnay.
Taittinger produces a range of acclaimed Champagnes, from the classic Brut Réserve NV to vintage releases and prestige bottlings. Known for their balance of vibrancy and elegance, Taittinger Champagnes are versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with seafood, oysters, sushi, and light poultry dishes.
Today, under the leadership of the Taittinger family, the house continues to represent the refined, Chardonnay-focused style that has made it one of the most admired Champagne producers in the world.
