The 2009 Barranco Oscuro Rubaiyat is a distinctive 100% Syrah from the high-altitude vineyards of Granada in Andalucía, southern Spain. Grown at around 1,290 metres on schist and clay soils, it shows concentrated blackberry and dark plum alongside pepper, dried herbs, earthy spice and pronounced mineral notes.
On the palate, it is powerful and structured yet retains impressive freshness, with concentrated dark fruit supported by lively acidity and well-defined tannins. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and naturally fermented in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts before approximately 16 months of maturation in old barrels. No sulphites are added, allowing the vineyard and Syrah character to remain particularly expressive.

Its combination of dark fruit, peppery spice, savoury development and freshness makes it particularly compelling at the table.
