A vibrant and textural cool-climate Riesling from Bryan Martin, sourced from multiple vineyards across Murrumbateman and Canberra District. Fermented and matured in ceramic eggs, concrete and large-format foudre, the wine takes a more savoury and layered approach than classic linear Riesling styles. The nose shows lime zest, preserved lemon and green apple alongside ginger, lemongrass, white flowers and subtle spice. There’s a savoury edge with hints of green almond and mineral freshness adding complexity.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with bright citrus acidity, chalky minerality and gentle lees texture. Fresh, energetic and highly detailed, with a long dry finish balancing vibrant fruit and savoury complexity beautifully.
Ben’s Recommendation:
One of the most exciting modern Australian Rieslings — bright and refreshing while offering more texture and savoury detail than traditional styles. Excellent with oysters, scallops, sashimi or roast pork. Drink now or cellar through 2038+.
