The 2024 Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay is a refined, cool-climate expression sourced from Tumbarumba, the Adelaide Hills and Tasmania. Focused aromas of oyster shell, wet stone, flint and sea spray are layered with lemon, nougat, roasted macadamia, almond, brioche and restrained toasted-oak spice.
The palate is precise and beautifully composed, combining bright citrus acidity with lemon-curd creaminess, saline freshness and fine phenolic grip. Subtle flavours of caper, green olive and ocean minerals unfold across the palate, while the oak and alcohol remain remarkably discreet. The finish is exceptionally long, controlled and mineral, demonstrating the wine’s purity and considerable ageing potential.

At Wine More Cellars, Yattarna is an outstanding choice for collectors seeking one of Australia’s most distinguished and age-worthy Chardonnays. Although approachable with decanting, it will be at its best from 2027 and can develop through to 2047. Pair with sashimi, oysters, seared scallops, lobster, grilled kingfish, roast chicken or creamy seafood dishes.
