The 2024 Dormilona Clayface Chenin Blanc is a wild, amphora-aged Chenin Blanc from Jo Perry’s Clayface range, sourced from organically farmed old vines in Yallingup. Naturally fermented and matured in clay amphora, the wine emphasizes texture, savoury complexity and vineyard purity over oak influence or heavy winemaking. The nose shows preserved lemon, quince and yellow apple alongside chamomile, beeswax, almond and subtle earthy spice. There’s a saline, slightly oxidative edge that gives the wine plenty of personality and depth.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with layered orchard fruit, chalky texture and vibrant natural acidity. Textural and savoury rather than overtly fruity, with amphora ageing contributing a fine earthy grip and long mineral finish.

The 2024 Dormilona Clayface Chenin Blanc is a beautifully distinctive modern Chenin — somewhere between Loire-inspired texture and lo-fi Margaret River energy. More savoury, structured and adventurous than the regular Dormilona Chenin Blanc, while still remaining fresh and highly drinkable. Excellent with roast chicken, pork belly, hard cheeses or richer seafood dishes. Drink now or cellar through 2034+.
