The 2024 Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge Syrah is a bold and aromatic red from Swartland, South Africa, made from 100% Syrah. The nose shows ripe dark plum, blackberry and black cherry with fragrant violets, black olive, pepper and exotic spice.
On the palate, it is full-bodied with concentrated dark fruit, ample acidity and structured, grippy tannins. Liquorice, anise, allspice and white pepper add savoury complexity, while maturation in seasoned French oak keeps the focus on the fruit and varietal character through a persistent finish.
