The 2024 Adams Ingelheim Chardonnay Lohpfad is a beautifully precise single-vineyard Chardonnay from the Lohpfad parcel in Ingelheimer Schlossberg, one of Rheinhessen's finest limestone and clay-marl sites. Crafted by Simone Adams under certified organic principles, the hand-harvested fruit is whole-bunch pressed, spontaneously fermented and matured for around 12 months in French barriques (up to 20% new) and traditional Stückfass, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The nose is refined and complex, revealing pear, honeydew melon and citrus zest layered with flinty minerality, gentle smoke and subtle roasted nut notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a creamy texture, vibrant acidity and exceptional mineral drive. Flavours of white peach, citrus and orchard fruit are framed by saline freshness, fine phenolic grip and beautifully integrated oak, leading to a long, elegant finish with remarkable precision. Serious yet effortlessly balanced, this is a world-class German Chardonnay that combines Burgundian finesse with the distinctive character of Rheinhessen's limestone soils.
