The 2023 Sato La Ferme de Sato Sur Les Nuages Pinot Noir is an estate-grown Central Otago Pinot Noir from Yoshiaki and Kyoko Sato’s vineyard at Mount Pisa. The nose is expressive with wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry alongside orange peel, dried herbs and subtle earthy, smoky notes. Alluvial soils with schist and quartz gravel contribute to its distinctive mineral character.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity, fine tannins and a juicy core of red fruit. Natural yeast fermentation and 26–35 days on skins are followed by 20 months in French oak, with 22% new barrels, creating structure and savoury depth while maintaining freshness and precision.
