The 2023 Portsea Estate Main Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard cool-climate red from Main Ridge on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Grown on red volcanic basalt soils at around 174 metres elevation, the nose shows red cherry and raspberry with savoury fennel seed, graphite, earthy spice and mineral notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity and surprisingly firm, fine tannins. Bright red fruit is balanced by savoury, earthy characters and subtle spice, giving the wine depth while maintaining freshness and elegance through a dry, persistent finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Pinot Noir drinkers who enjoy a savoury, structured Mornington Peninsula style with freshness and mineral detail. Enjoy it now or cellar over the next 5–7 years. Ideal with roast duck, pork, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon or roast chicken.
