The 2023 Portsea Estate Main Ridge Block Reserve Chardonnay is a concentrated single-block Chardonnay from Main Ridge on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Grown on the estate’s red volcanic basalt soils, the wine opens with grapefruit zest, citrus and orange blossom, complemented by briny mineral notes and subtle savoury complexity.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with lively acidity and a finely textured structure. Citrus and grapefruit flavours are carried by a distinct mineral edge, giving the wine precision and freshness through a long, focused finish. The 2023 release was also selected among the top Mornington Peninsula Chardonnays in Young Gun of Wine’s blind tasting.
