A vibrant, joven-style Tempranillo from Jo Perry’s Dormilona label, made from organically farmed Margaret River fruit with minimal intervention. Inspired by the fresh, youthful reds of Spain, the wine focuses on purity, crunch and easy drinkability rather than heaviness or oak. The nose shows red plum, cherry and cranberry alongside cola, sarsaparilla, dried herbs and subtle spice. Bright aromatics and lifted freshness give the wine a lively, energetic feel.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy red fruits, fine grainy tannins and refreshing acidity. Crunchy, vibrant and highly drinkable, with a lightly savoury finish that works beautifully slightly chilled.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A seriously fun modern Australian Tempranillo — bright, crunchy and dangerously easy to drink. More youthful and energetic than traditional Spanish styles, making it perfect for charcuterie, tapas, pizza or casual shared food. Best served lightly chilled. Drink now through 2030+.
