The 2023 David Duband Gevrey-Chambertin is an elegant and highly perfumed Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, produced by one of the appellation's most respected modern growers. Duband's village wine is sourced predominantly from several parcels around Brochon - including Les Journaux, Les Gueulepines, Les Croisettes and Pince-Vin - with additional fruit from Les Seuvrées and Reniard to the south of Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines, largely planted in the 1970s, grow on east to southeast-facing slopes over limestone bedrock and red-brown clay soils. David Duband has farmed organically since 2006 and has become particularly known for his thoughtful use of whole-cluster fermentation, producing Burgundy with perfume, energy and finesse rather than excessive extraction.
