The 2023 Arnot-Roberts Heaven and Earth Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant cool-climate Pinot Noir from the organically farmed Heaven and Earth Vineyard in the western Sonoma Coast, just east of Occidental. Sheltered from direct Pacific weather by a forested ridge and planted on decomposed schist and loam soils, the vineyard produces small berries with remarkable concentration and aromatic intensity. Fermented with 100% whole clusters and matured in used French oak, the wine opens with lifted aromas of wild blackberry, red currant, cranberry, forest floor, fresh herbs and delicate spice.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity and fine-grained tannins. Layers of black cherry, sour cherry, red berries and savoury herbs are complemented by notes of liquorice, pine and earthy minerality, leading to a long, fresh and beautifully structured finish. The whole-cluster fermentation adds texture and aromatic complexity while preserving the purity and energy that define Arnot-Roberts' winemaking style.
Ben's Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding choice for customers who appreciate refined, site-driven Pinot Noir with freshness, structure and exceptional detail. Pair it with roast duck, grilled quail, mushroom risotto or herb-roasted pork. While approachable with a gentle decant, the 2023 vintage will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 8–12 years.
