The 2022 Taka K Bedford Estate Pinot Noir is a refined single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Bedford Estate in Waipara Valley, North Canterbury. Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Takahiro Koyama, the wine is fermented by clone with natural yeasts before maturing for 14 months in French oak. The nose is elegant and expressive, offering aromas of red cherry, plum and raspberry, complemented by white mushroom, wild herbs and a distinctive limestone-driven minerality.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and exceptional purity. Juicy red berry fruit is layered with savoury spice and earthy complexity, leading to a long, polished finish that reflects the unique stony soils of the vineyard. Beautifully balanced in its youth, it has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 8–10 years.
