The 2022 Patrick Sullivan Woori Yallock Chardonnay is a powerful single-vineyard Chardonnay from the upper Yarra Valley, sourced from the highly regarded Lusatia Park vineyard. Planted in 1985 on a north-facing slope with distinctive red basalt soils, the site produces a concentrated expression showing white nectarine, pear and citrus alongside brioche, almond, gentle spice and flinty mineral notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with generous stone fruit, vibrant acidity and considerable depth. Mineral and savoury characters complement the richer fruit and nutty notes, while a fine textural grip carries through the long finish. The hand-harvested Chardonnay was whole-bunch pressed, naturally fermented in barrel and matured for around 12 months before bottling without fining or filtration.
