2022 Domaine Marquis d’Angerville Volnay Premier Cru Frémiet is one of the most structured and complete wines in the d’Angerville lineup, showcasing a more mineral, powerful and terroir-driven expression of Volnay Pinot Noir.
The 2022 vintage is particularly compelling:
- Aromas of raspberry, plum and violets, with layers of spice and floral notes
- A palate that is medium- to full-bodied, with fine but firm tannins
- Distinctive mineral and slightly saline character, adding precision and length
Compared to other Volnay Premier Crus:
- More structured than Champans
- More mineral and tense than Fremiet’s neighbouring sites
- Slightly less austere than Clos des Ducs, but still very cellar-worthy
