The 2022 David Duband Chambolle-Musigny is a fragrant 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, combining expressive fruit with floral elegance and a finely textured palate. David took over the family domaine in 1991, gradually developing a style centred on gentler extraction and clear vineyard expression. This village Chambolle comes from east-facing vines around 40 years old on clay-limestone soils. For the 2022, the domaine used approximately 60% whole bunches, an important part of Duband’s approach to building aromatic complexity and texture. The 2022 offers fresh red berries, blackcurrant, violet and pomegranate, with subtle tea, smoky and saline notes adding complexity. The domaine describes a fresh, taut palate with fine texture and a distinctly savoury finish. La Revue du Vin de France awarded the wine 93 Points in its Guide Vert 2025, providing strong recognition for this village-level bottling. Following fermentation, it matured for 13 months in oak barrels, approximately 30% new, followed by three months in tank, before bottling without fining or filtration. The result combines inviting fruit with structure and freshness, giving it both youthful appeal and scope for further development.
