The 2022 Catalina Sounds Sound of White Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir from the elevated Sound of White vineyard in the Waihopai Valley. The nose shows crushed red berries, blackberry and plum with dried herbs, earthy spice and subtle floral notes. Clay, sand and fine gravel soils give the wine notable depth and structure.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with ripe cherry and plum supported by fresh acidity and fine, powdery tannins. A small portion of whole bunches adds aromatic lift and structure, while maturation in French oak brings gentle spice and complexity. The finish is savoury, persistent and finely structured.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Pinot Noir drinkers who enjoy structured Marlborough reds with ripe fruit, savoury detail and fine tannins. It is drinking well now but has the structure to develop further in bottle. Pair with roast duck, grilled quail, pork, seared salmon or mushroom dishes.
